Rosie Brown

artist-rosie-brown-artwork-1Rosie Brown has been painting in different mediums her entire life. She originally came from Cuba at the age of nine and knew the importance of having a steady job. This experience prompted her to obtain a business degree from Florida International University, but Rosie’s true passion centered on painting and continued to flourish throughout her business career.artist-rosie-brown-artwork-3In her early twenties, she moved to Ft. Walton Beach, Florida while her husband was in the military. She decided to take private lessons, in oil, from well regarded artists in Florida’s panhandle. She returned to Miami and continued a successful business career. After retiring, she decided to pursue her lifelong passion to create. She has fallen in love with watercolors and is now also working with acrylics.
Rosie’s love of art extends out to organizations in the community. She is a member of the Miami Watercolor Society and a docent/board member at the Lowe Art Museum at the University of Miami. Rosie’s work can be found on line, at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, GroveHouse Artists Gallery in Miami, Florida and in Georgia.

The subjects of my paintings are varied, but they all reflect Florida living: vibrant colors, gorgeous seascapes, luscious fruits, tropical birds, exotic blooms, great light and awesome shadows. I find it challenging and exciting to see how the colors come together to capture these images.
