Gina Hubler was born in Miami, Florida, however, she grew up in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Her formal art education is in interior design. She has traveled extensively throughout the world, exploring the many cultures of Europe and Asia, which instilled Gina with great inspiration and creativity. Gina has been a designer and artist all her life, progressing through different media. Her resounding passion is creating mosaics and mixed media installations, working professionally with this medium since the late eighties.

Gina is currently the Director of Education for the Miami Mosaic Academy in Miami and also has studios in Allentown, Pennsylvania and Umbria, Italy. She is also the mosaic editor for Glass Craftsman Magazine. Over the past decade, she has been an educator at the University of Miami, Miami-Dade College and at the Corning Museum of Glass and at various culture centers throughout the United States and Europe. In addition to teaching mosaics, Gina has taken her students to Italy; conducting an annual Mosaic Tour of Italy since 1999.

Artist Statement:
My philosophy of art and beauty comes from the principles of color, with light as its essence. Colors meld to form new colors and the feelings which they inspire. In the same breath, they split apart with unequal divide to produce seemingly alike, but different colors and emotions. I equate color with all that is life.
